Objectifs
Well-being and health- themed English class.
The students are going to be working on vocabulary and expressions concerning various topics. At each class there is going to be a discussion. All the group participates in the debates as the course is based on oral communication skills. Written skills are going to be practiced by short written assignments in-class either individually or in small groups. We are going to revise / refresh / learn vocabulary items connected with humans and well-being, useful expressions and idiomatic expressions, pronouns, prepositions, adjectives (comparing), phrasal verbs, linking expressions, false friends, etc. and grammar. We are going to focus on pronunciation and intonation
Contenu
Vocabulary connected with a human body, health and well-being. Elements of psychology and stress management in English.
Using various texts and videos, we are going to discuss topics connected with architecture and well-being: stress and body, music, healthy diet, comfort food, art therapy, fitness, kindness, city and trees, feelings and emotions, fulfillment, relationships, happiness, pets, work-life balance, etc.
Mode d'évaluation
The final mark is going to be based on continuous assessment (40%). Therefore, attendance and active participation in the discussions as well as writing storms (30%) and presentations (30%) is crucial.
Travaux requis
Group oral presentations on topics connected with well-being, active participation in class and two written assignments.
